Resolving SABnzbd Connection Error

If you encounter the error "Failed to connect: [WinError] The requested address is not valid in its context" while using SABnzbd, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Verify Server Settings

Ensure that your newsreader is configured with the correct server details:

  • Server: news.newshosting.com
  • Port: 199 (unencrypted), 563 (SSL)
  • SSL: Not enabled (if using port 119), Enabled (if using port 563)
  • Authentication: Enabled (use your Newshosting credentials)

2. Check Network Adapter Settings

  • Restart your modem/router and computer.
  • If using a VPN or proxy, try disabling it temporarily.

3. Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings

  • Ensure that the configured port is not being blocked by your firewall or antivirus software.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please provide the following information to our support team for further assistance:

  • The email address associated with Newshosting
  • The software you're using (SABnzbd version)

  • Any recent changes to your system or network
  • Detailed error messages or logs
