Adding Additional NNTP Servers in Usenet Wire

Usenet Wire allows you to add additional NNTP servers as backup sources. Follow these steps to add another server:

 

 

  1. Access Settings: On the main screen of Usenet Wire, navigate to Options and select Settings.​

 

 

  1. Open Backup NNTP: In the Settings window, select Backup NNTP from the left-hand menu, then click Add.
  2. Enter Server Details:
    • Host: Enter the NNTP server address of your Usenet provider.
    • Port Number: Enter the port specified by your provider. Common ports include:
      • Unencrypted: 119
      • SSL/TLS: 563
    • SSL/TLS Encryption: Select this option when using an encrypted connection. SSL/TLS is recommended when supported by your provider.
    • Username and Password: Provide your authentication credentials.​
    • Maximum Connections: Enter a connection limit supported by your account with that provider.

 

 

 

  1. Save Changes: Click Save after entering the server information. Repeat these steps to add another server. When finished, click Apply or OK in the Settings window.
