Fixing Error 502 – Access Denied to Your Node

What Causes Error 502?

This message usually indicates that access to the Usenet node is being denied. Common reasons include:

  • Incorrect server address or port

  • Expired account or login failure

  • Attempting to connect from a restricted IP

How to Fix It

  1. Double-check your server settings:

    • Server: news.newshosting.com

    • Ports: 563 (SSL) or 119 (non-SSL)

  2. Make sure your username and password are correct.

  3. Restart your newsreader and try again.

  4. If the problem continues, contact Newshosting Support.
