How to Fix Error 111 When Connecting to Newshosting

Troubleshooting Error 111 in Newshosting

If you see the error message [Error 111] Failed to connect: (110, 'timed out') [email protected]:119 when using your newsreader, it means your device cannot connect to the server. Here's how to fix it:

Check Your Server Address and Port

Make sure you're using the correct hostname (news.newshosting.com) and port. Use port 563 for SSL connections, or port 119 for unencrypted connections.

Add a Second Server as a Test

Try adding a second server profile with the same settings. If that fails too, the issue is likely on your device rather than the server.

Check Your Firewall Settings

Your firewall or antivirus may be blocking outgoing traffic. Temporarily disable it, test the server connection again, and re-enable once finished.
