Troubleshooting Usenet Connection Issues

Check Your Server Configuration

Verify that your server settings match the Newshosting server address: news.newshosting.com. Use port 563 for SSL or port 119 for standard access. Double-check your username and password.

Use SSL for Stability

In your newsreader settings, enable SSL and select port 563. This can improve connection reliability and security.

Try Alternate Ports

If port 563 is blocked by your Internet provider, try 443 (SSL) or 80 (non-SSL). These are common alternatives that bypass some ISP blocks.

Disable Firewalls or Antivirus Temporarily

Security software can occasionally interfere with Usenet traffic. Temporarily disable it to test the connection, then re-enable and add exceptions if needed.

Check Your Internet Connection

Basic connectivity issues can affect Usenet access. Restart your router or modem, and test general Internet access.
