Running Accurate Speed Tests in NZBGet

Testing server speed in NZBGet offers insight into connection performance using Newshosting’s network. These tests isolate server performance without requiring NZBs from Indexers.

Speed Test Steps

  1. Create a Base Server Entry:
In Settings > NEWS-SERVERS, configure a working server connection using Newshosting’s details. Confirm it connects and completes test tasks.

  2. Clone the Server for Testing:
Create a copy of this server entry, renaming it (e.g., "SpeedTest-Newshosting").

  3. Enable Testing Mode:
In the clone’s settings, set Optional to yes and X.Limit to a specific value (e.g., 50 MB). This limits how much data is transferred for the test.

  4. Set Test Priority:
Adjust the test server's Level to 0 and disable all others temporarily.

  5. Run the Test:
Restart NZBGet. It will perform a test based on the configured data cap. Monitor speed via the status bar.

  6. Review and Compare:
Analyze results, make configuration changes, and repeat as needed.
