Master NZBGet Quick Filter for Efficient Usenet Access

NZBGet's Quick Filter helps narrow your queue and history views by displaying only the entries that match specific criteria. This is particularly useful when accessing large volumes of Usenet articles through Newshosting.

Filtering Basics

Use the Quick Filter box to:

  • Filter by article title

  • Filter by Usenet group name

  • Search by status (e.g., paused, failed, completed)

Filtering is case-insensitive and supports partial matches.

Examples

  • Typing pause highlights all paused entries

  • Entering a newsgroup like alt.tv.* narrows the list to those groups

  • Typing queued displays all queued items

  • Entering history shows previously accessed articles

Full Filter Syntax

Quick Filter applies to multiple fields:

  • Name: Matches titles of queued or completed articles

  • Status: Keywords like paused, error, success highlight status-specific rows

  • Group: Enter full or partial group names such as alt.binaries.movies

  • Category: Use category names like TV, Movies, or custom labels

  • Script Status: Enter script results like pp-failed or pp-ok

  • ID: Enter job IDs to isolate a specific process

Tips

  • Combine Quick Filter with category views for improved navigation

  • Refresh the queue to see the most recent filter matches

  • Use Quick Filter in both Queue and History views

Closing

Mastering the Quick Filter in NZBGet allows for faster review and sorting of Usenet queue items, helping Newshosting users make better use of their article retention access.
