NZBGet macOS Setup Guide for Newshosting Users

Follow these steps to install and configure NZBGet for use with your Newshosting account on macOS.

Step 1: Install NZBGet on macOS

  1. Visit the official NZBGet releases page.

  2. Locate the latest macOS version and download the .dmg installer.

  3. Open the .dmg and move the NZBGet application to your Applications folder.

  4. Launch NZBGet.

Step 2: Access the Web Interface

  1. Once launched, NZBGet will open its Web interface at http://localhost:6789.

  2. The default login credentials are:

    • Username: nzbget

    • Password: tegbzn6789

Step 3: Configure Newshosting Server Settings

  1. In the NZBGet Web interface, go to Settings > News-Servers.

  2. Update or add a server configuration:

    • Name: Newshosting

    • Host: news.newshosting.com

    • Port: 563 (SSL) or 119 (non-SSL)

    • Encryption: Yes (recommended)

    • Username and Password: Enter your Newshosting credentials

    • Connections: Set up to 60 (based on your plan)

 

Click Save all changes and restart NZBGet.

Step 4: Connect an Indexer

To automate access to Usenet articles:

  1. Go to Settings > Paths to confirm your data directories.

  2. Integrate NZBGet with a Usenet Indexer through automation tools.

  3. Use the Indexer’s API key to authenticate connections.

Step 5: Test and Finalize

  1. Click News-Servers > Test Server to verify connection.

  2. Once confirmed, NZBGet is ready for use with Newshosting.
