NZBGet macOS Setup Guide for Newshosting Users
Follow these steps to install and configure NZBGet for use with your Newshosting account on macOS.
Step 1: Install NZBGet on macOS

Visit the official NZBGet releases page.

Locate the latest macOS version and download the
.dmg
installer. -
Open the
.dmg
and move the NZBGet application to your Applications folder. -
Launch NZBGet.
Step 2: Access the Web Interface

Once launched, NZBGet will open its Web interface at
http://localhost:6789
. -
The default login credentials are:

Username:
nzbget
-
Password:
tegbzn6789

Step 3: Configure Newshosting Server Settings

In the NZBGet Web interface, go to Settings > News-Servers.

Update or add a server configuration:

Name: Newshosting
-
Host:
news.newshosting.com
-
Port: 563 (SSL) or 119 (non-SSL)

Encryption: Yes (recommended)

Username and Password: Enter your Newshosting credentials

Connections: Set up to 60 (based on your plan)

Click Save all changes and restart NZBGet.
Step 4: Connect an Indexer
To automate access to Usenet articles:

Go to Settings > Paths to confirm your data directories.

Integrate NZBGet with a Usenet Indexer through automation tools.

Use the Indexer’s API key to authenticate connections.
Step 5: Test and Finalize

Click News-Servers > Test Server to verify connection.

Once confirmed, NZBGet is ready for use with Newshosting.
